Ultimate Renko add-on for NinjaTrader 7 & NinjaTrader 8

PointO bars (a.k.a. Side by side renkos) – Data Series settings:

Type = Ultimate Renko
Retracement % = 100
Bar type (1..3) = 3

Median Renko – Data Series settings:

Type = Ultimate Renko
Retracement % = 50
Bar type (1..3) = 1

Hybrid Renko – Data Series settings:

Type = Ultimate Renko
Retracement % = 20
Bar type (1..3) = 3

Renko with wicks – Data Series settings:

Type = Ultimate Renko
Retracement % = 100
Bar type (1..3) = 1

Turbo Renko – Data Series settings:

Type = Ultimate Renko
Retracement % = 20
Bar type (1..3) = 1

Depending on the values you set for the Bar type, Bar size, and Retracement parameters, you can create many different styles of charts:

• Standard Median Renko charts,


• Turbo Renko style accelerated chart,


• Turbo Renko style chart with additional price action smoothing,


• Hybrid Renko style charts with asymmetrical reversals,


• and even a standard vanilla Renko chart with wicks

All chart types will ensure session constancy (Open, High, Low and Close values are consistent with the daily candle values).
The bar-type definition is accessible via Data Series by choosing Ultimate Renko type which offers the following user-definable settings:

Body size – This parameter defines the size of the candle body expressed in ticks.

Retracement % – This parameter can be set to a value of 1 to 100 % and defines the offset of the new bar’s opening price to the close of the previous bar. A setting of 100% will create a vanilla Renko chart with wicks.

Bar type – This parameter defines the bar type and there are 3 values to choose from

1. Bar type with symmetrical reversals, plus trend continuation or reversal happens when the price hits or exceeds the calculated next bar threshold level
2. Bar type with symmetrical reversals, plus trend continuation or reversal happens only if price exceeds the calculated next bar threshold level. This bar type offers extra noise filtration when compared to bar type 1
3. Bar type with asymmetrical reversals.

The add-in uses “PeriodType.Renko” in NinjaTrader 7 so it will replace the built-in renko bar type (On NinjaTrader 8 a new custom bar type will be added).
